Geoffroy Laumet, PhD

Dr. Laumet obtained his PhD degree from the Pasteur Institute (Lille, France), then moved to MD Anderson (Houston, TX) for his postdoctoral training. He joined the faculty of the department of Physiology at MSU in 2019.

His lab investigates the contribution of neuron-immune cell interactions to the development, maintenance and resolution of chronic pain. They aim to identify new therapeutic targets to develop novel safer analgesics. They believe that providing better analgesics (non-addictive) will help to reduce the use of opioids in the US. They are also searching way to improve our own body endogenous opioid system.

Research Focus
Pain, chronic pain, neuroimmunology, opioids
