Thomas W. Wojciechowski, PhD

Dr. Thomas W. Wojciechowski is an assistant professor with the Michigan State University School of Criminal Justice. He received his PhD in sociology from the University of Florida in 2018. He has also held numerous positions conducting program evaluation research across multiple fields.

Dr. Wojciechowski has conducted research focused on the etiology of opioid use among justice-involved youth. These studies have been published in a range of high impact peer-reviewed journals. This research has centered on understanding developmental patterns of opioid use and mental health and traumatic stress factors predicting opioid use. Dr. Wojciechowski also contributes to OPEN-MSU through his work developing and delivering training curriculum focused on program evaluation. These trainings center on providing opioid use programs with an understanding of data collection, how to carry out rigorous evaluations of their programs to determine effectiveness, and cultivation of a culture of sustainability within these programs. Dr. Wojciechowski then also serves as technical support for the actual quantitative and qualitative evaluations of these programs at various stages.
